Are you using a polarize filter on the shots? They seem to be hazy in the background or is the way the day looked?

Haze or fog in the South. In the picture above (looking east) you can see the Golden Gate Bridge on the right, it is much further away than the land on the left. This shot was taken at the about the same time and place but looking South.

Thanks for the reply. In El Paso our haze is usually brown from the wood burning from across the border. I did see fog once last year.
