Bridge to Spring in Michigan

This is my first attempt at a photo post, so apologies in advance if it doesn't work...

Soon Michigan State University's Horticulture Gardens will dazzle with color, but today (3/10/04) the brightest color was on this bridge in the Children's Garden.

Nice shot. Good composition with the bridge going from one corner and through the image. Pitty you cut the top of the tree. perhaps it's a bit too bright too.

Klaus, thanks for the appreciation and even more for the suggestions. Speaking of "too bright," today I rushed back to the Children's Garden when afternoon snow showers turned into a brief blizzard! I wanted the contrasting shot, but the "snowstorm" was over when I arrived; the scene was simply "too gray." I will try this again with an eye toward not topping the tree.

I understand. But what do you mean by gray ? Was this a gray "look" in the final image ? If so, then try and increase the exposure value by +1 EV up to +2 or less. This will often remove some of the gray cast. But maybe you already knew this.

Nice job, Uncle Q.

Welcome to the forum!

It might be interesting if you could step back and fill less
of the frame with the bridge.

:)
