Caught an especially bright Perseid. It left an impressive cloud of smoke
before it disappeared. About a half hour of star tracks ( 42 frames ) stacked using the TawbaWare image stacker software. Polaris is the bright star in the middle. http://www.pbase.com/image/3745328 I'll be out again tonight to hopefully catch some more. Bryan |

Neat shot, I'm not a star gazer and don't know much about them. But the shot is cool and I like "time lapse"(?) type photos.

Now, what lens setting and time exposure did you use? The exif info would be wonderful. I suppose your out shooting stars now so I won't be getting an answer.

Hi,
I tried seeing the Perseids last night to no avail. Too much cloud coverage in OC, Califoria. What part of the world are you in? I'm an amateur star gazer. Any tips on what direction I should look to see the meteor showers? Thank-you for sharing the wonderful pics. |

Darby,
The pic was taken in my backyard in San Jose, last friday. If you look in the NE direction they are supposed to be visible. I too was out late last night, but I think the haze and light pollution was too much and was thus dissappointed. I think I was lucky to get such a bright meteor. I'll probably sleep early and be happy with the one nice shot ![]() Thanks, again Bryan |
