On the subject of clouds. I'd like to see if I can link to a Yahoo group file page to post a cloud photo. If it works, this is a photo I took in Death Valley in 2002.

(Can't link to Yahoo's group photos because they require membership plus a sign-in.)
I really like that tractor photo. My own two cents is that I'd crop off part of the right side so it doesn't look as if the tractor is getting ready to drive out of the picture instead of having just entered it. Better yet, keep this sort of thing in mind when you're photographing things or beings moving through the picture. Mind you, this is not a rule other than that, in most instances it works well. Now and then, and for specific reasons, you want the person or object or animal or whatever exiting the picture. It depends on what you're trying to convey. |

Thanks Barbara,
Sorry to be experimenting but I'm new to the forum and still figuring things out. This should work.... I hope. Q ![]() |

Thats a superb picture in my opinion. The clouds are very nicely shaped, and the mountains in the background finish it! Where was it taken? 8)

Thank you Richard. I'm glad to have figured out how to post a pic. It was taken in Death Valley National Park near Stovepipe Wells in December 2002.

Clouds are wonderful subjects, and you sure caught some in full-dress uniform. Excellent photo. |

Here's a picture of clouds taken from within them: on a plane landing in Phoenix during a storm in August 2003. We had to circle around for a while before landing because of the weather.

Urbanphotos,
Beautiful! I would not have wanted to be in the air with all that weather going on. Q (ultralight pilot) |

Richard W,
Like most others I prefer the first. The cloud formation garners a lot of impact. Urban photos, That shot within the storm looks like a scene from Milton's "Paradise Lost." Beautiful but dangerous. |
