This was shot an early morning. It shows the sea between Denmark and Sweden!
I love to hear why you like it OR not! ![]() Thanks! |

I like the colours that it has.. the glow behind the trees and the bird in flight at the top

The execution of the shot is great. Nothing at all to complain about.
But as a viewer I feel trapped and claustrophobic (Klaustrophobic?) because of the reeds in the foreground. The viewer looks from the dark place overrun with weeds which reach all the way to the water. It's very dark and it's kind of sad. On the other end of the water the sun is rising and the space is wide open, i.e. lots of freedom. There doesn't seem to be any pathway from the viewing location to the opposite side. The bird flying above just drives home the point that I am trapped on the dark, sad side of the water. Now shall we discuss whether an interpretation of art is an analysis of the components of the piece or a reflection on the critic's soul? ![]() |

An old farmboy does not know much about the critic's soul, but I like the photo. I like the photo because I am an early riser and love pics of the world before they are overcome by the noise of the world. Of course, this could also had been shot a sunset but I like the thought of early morning.

Absolutely love it, fantastic shot - wish it was mine.
Makes me feel free and blessed with such beauty around me. I could imagine myself sitting there enjoying the scenery. Quote:

Klaus,
Overall, I like the composition of your photograph. Perhaps you have a well-trained "aviator" as part of your photo accessories ? ![]() Also, respectfully, I would offer these suggestions: 1. Lighten the photo just a little. 2. Crop the lower part of photo below the reeds and a bit of the right to put increased emphasis on the reeds, the bird and the outline of the trees. Steve6, with all due respect, I ask that you cease denigration of others who post here. Steve6, with all due respect, I ask you to "look within" then offer a public apology to Lauren. For the record, I concur with Lauren about the sense of sadness about the photo. I am intrigued by Lauren's intellect, her questioning sense, her wonderment and her courage to live in and immerse herself in a foreign culture. It would be an honor and a privelege to sit across from her at a cafe and converse about photography, life, choices, courage and values...just to name a few topics. When I see a truly great photo, I am moved...this is an emotional response. I am moved by many things...the capture of a moment, composition, the look on someone's face, the lighting (esp the low angle light of dawn or dusk), a powerful, sweeping landscape which takes me to (lifts me into) into the meadow, mountain or seascape and more. This forum should be about learning from each other and supporting each other. Life here on this earth is a gift and it may be over at any time...so, let us celebrate those whom we love in our personal lives and those whose work is posted here. Thanks for listening, all.
