I like the picture. At risk of writing something that might find its way into Pseuds' Corner in Private Eye, (Hi Steve!) I have to say that the picture puts me in mind of Sibelius and Finlandia.
Just as an experiment, I tried adjusting the picture a bit. I don't claim that the variation's an improvement or that it evokes Finlandia. I hope, Klaus, that you don't mind my posting the result. http://www.pbase.com/image/16774825/original |

Not at all! I know the colors was a bit too much - but I like it the way it is. Postcard or realism ? Hmm...a matter of taste.

not to brag, but i noticed that it was something strange with the bird. If you would have darkened it a bit it would have fit together alot better (and I would never had noticed it).
Otherwise it is a fantastic shot, i really like it. scandinavian nature is fantastic isn't it? ![]() (being a swede myself) |

Hi Lcohen , so you're a Swede!
My meaning was not to fool anyone in this forum (did that on photosig ![]() It was my intension from the very start to post this manipulation. If you look at the original shot , you cant tell if the bird is real or not. This was just for fun. I tried the same about a half year ago in and danish photoforum and lots of people got really mad at me and did'nt think it was fun at all. Okay, it's maybe a little unfair to post it first, without saying anything untill later.... ![]() Danish humour ? I dont know - but it's also important for all of us to be aware of - these photomanipulation. What's real and what's not! Nobody can tell! Just for the fun of it! Regards Klaus |

![]() And I agree with you, it is important that we all are aware of this "problem". And it's fun to see how good results can get with some manipulation ![]() Perhaps a competition would be nice "find the manipulated thingie in the picture" |

Hmmmmm...this thread has become an interesting discussion on digital "design" (manipulation has a bit of a negative connotation lol!)
Years ago, when an Olympic class runner fell a the responder quickly appeared on the scene and a photograph was snapped. When published, "magically" the antenna of the radio worn by the responder had "disappeared". When someone of talent like Klaus can "fool us", I for one, am greatly impressed. Gee, I just thought he had a trained aviator ![]() Keep up the great work, Klaus. Your talent as a photographer and "editor" inspires me to improve my photos. Thanks for sharing, Klaus ![]() |
