Hello Melanie and LCohen
![]() It was my privelege to view your contributions earlier at: http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/v...ic.php?t=14930 and http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/v...ic.php?t=14792 so, I offer this to you two and other forum members. ![]() Perhaps, this thread could be a continuing thread of "country roads" photos from all over the steves-digicams spectrum of forum members! ![]() |

And I like this one too. I actually missed Melanie's contribution to this topic. thanks for posting both those links.
I would try shooting this at several different times of the day. I wonder if it would be better without the shadows going across the road (and the left tree might be lit.) But then again, they might add horizontal lines which could be missed... and how often do you find such a wonderful sky? I'd love to contribute to this topic... but I can't. I haven't been able to find any good "country roads" like these where I live. I'll just keep hunting. I did find some nice paths, so I mist post that instead (a "country foot road"? ![]() Did you use a polarizing filter? I know that LCohen did for his. Eric |

Hi Eric
![]() Thanks for your response... The location is about an hour from my home...near Stone City Iowa (made famous by the artist Grant Wood whose signature immortal piece is American Gothic which featured his sister and his dentist!) so I cannot easily visit different hours but that is a great idea ![]() Yes, I did use a polarizer (circular). This filter is very inexpensive yet so versatile and also protects the lens. |

The polarizer filter is what makes the sky so blue. But kex is right, you can also do it in photoshop.
The filter can also cut down on the reflected light off the leaves, making them a deeper green (I believe.) I don't have a polarizer filter... yet. Probably get one tomorrow for the weekend shooting (along with a wide angle lens!) Eric |
