I like it. I'm no expert but it looks a little over exposed to me, i.e. the water is bleached out?
cheers Martin. |

I took a bunch of shots of the falls, but haven't had an opportunity to put them all online. I'll look through them and post the best. The sky at the top of the picture could be causing problems, but I spot metered, so that shouldn't really matter.
I'll see what I can find and post some more shots of the falls ![]() |

I would not have used spot as this has exposed for the dark bit and neglected the brighter areas hence the sky/trees are washed out.
However, if you wanted the exposure to be correct for the darker bits and sod the sky then ok. A picture like this with two contrasting areas of brightness is difficult and a compromise. You could do quite a lot to improve it with post processing using levels or the histogram. |

5 of 26 is a nice photo with about the right amount of contrast/sharpness/exposure.
An even slower shutter speed would have improved it (my opinion) by making the water more milky. Use levels on some of the others to try and match this one. |

I don't know if the FZ1 allows adjustment in shutter speed (other than the preset options). All the pictures are straight from the camera with no optimization. I wanted to see what I could get from the camera. I've only had it a few weeks now and of course I'm still learning. I appreciate the feedback. ![]() |

If it's got it, try landscape mode and it should close the aperture right down and if necessary fool it into a slower shutter speed by using a neutral density filter. I know the camera can go up to 8secs exposure. I once used my sunglasses to slow it down, with a tripod of course. |
