I didn't find a picture of this popular spot in this forum. Can't believe it! Anyways, here's what a 3 year old Canon Powershot S10 can do. Picture taken at sunset, no software editing at all. I'm a bit ashamed to post it, there were some people there with amazing photo equipment (which they lugged up the 1.5 mile trail too :-))

Great shot even with an almost museum piece equipment, just kidding...
I'm constantly reminded of a comment once made by a famous photographer that, we haven't yet exhausted the possibilities of the Brownie camera. For those too young to remember the Brownie was originally marketed by Kodak many, many, moons ago and it was fixed focus, lens, exposure etc.. To be honest it was only marginally better than a pinhole camera, but folks turned out some brilliant photographs. |

The most important thing is the person BEHIND the camera, they make the really outstanding pictures if you give them a hasselblad or a 1 MP camera.

Thanks guys. I played with Adobe Elements a bit, but decided to leave it as is. Having it auto color correct made the sandstone too red, that was not as how I remember it. Maybe you're familiar with this years national park pass, it has the same arch on it, but a bit too red and saturated in color for my taste.

Definitely a great shot. Such a shame we don't have that kind of scenery. The only thing I don't like about the picture is the fact that it's tilted. It is tilted right? :? Just my humble opinion

Hi Shoshone,
Thanks! Where do you live? I don't think the image is tilted a lot, if at all. The terrain is slanted. The arch is standing on a slant that moves down to the right of the pictures. It actually gets pretty steep. I put two wider view images on pbase, maybe that'll give you a better idea. http://www.pbase.com/barthold/inbox Barthold |

Awesome pic
![]() No apologies needed! If I let my eyes relax...then it appears as two legs striding uphill. ![]() |

I'm dutch too, but I moved to Colorado years ago. Landscapes are great around here, that is for sure.
