Overall I like the picture, but it looks like your fous is off. I think the camera focused on the fence early on in the picture. I think it would have been better if the focus was set to infinity.

I think theres a certain unnatural cast over the pic. It's obvious the WB that needs some adjustment.
You horizon is tilting to the right side. I bit of sharpening could do wonders. And as others points out - you need to find another spot to focus on to get the optimal DOF. The fine (and seldom seen here) thing is you excellent composition. You manage to lead our eyes through the pic - with the road. Nice job. Good luck. |

You horizon is tilting to the right side. Klaus, How can you tell the horizion is tilting to the right and it's not just the lay of the land? Just curious as I didn't really notice anything till you said something and I'm not really sure I still do. Thanks |

I guess its a matter of how many shot like this you've seen. Its very common to forget it. Try going to i.e Photosig and view landscapes - you'll be surprised!
Well I saved the pic and straightend(!) it up in PS. The result says it all. You could try it! |

i think if one looks at the roof lines of the buildings they slant down to the right. rooflines should be level. no?

Thanks for the answers. I'll have to go to photosig and check them out. I see what you mean about the roof line slanting. I hadn't noticed that.

Hmmm... I agree! The picture does tilt to the right, I think.
![]() I focused on the house and shot in auto mode. There was a slight incline where I was standing at the time I took the pic. Maybe I need a bubble level! Thanks for the comments... It's amazing what one can see in a picture! Dan |
