Created by flow from the bottom of a dam on the river, the Little Red River is a constant 42 degrees year round, making it an ideal habitat for rainbow and brown trout. At times the river boasted of world records in both species. The cold water also means that fog is common, even in late afternoon when this picture is taken. In the background is Sugar Loaf Mountain, a popular climbing destination for generations of local residents. (I first climbed it more than 40 years ago.)

This is just outside my hometown in northern Arkansas.

The shallow water and thick fog create the illusion of this fly fisherman floating above the river.
