Two winters ago I was photographing the ice bridge at Niagara Falls...when I happened to notice two individuals standing on the ice floes at the base of the Horseshoe Falls.

One of those rare times I really wished for a 1000mm lens. I had to make do with the stock lens on my e10.

How they got there...I have no clue. Incredibly dangerous, to say the least.

This is awesome! Those people in the scene really show how big that ice is! Great shot!

I think this is one of the rare cases where you are watching "survival of the stupidest" game show in action.

For thier next trick, they do same thing at a volcano.

I'll have to say WOW! The title says it all. I agree about a longer lens, but this perspective really shows how puny they are in comparison to the fates they are tempting.

Great work, SK

Great perspective for the shot. I'm sure that a long lens would have helped you to get a different shot, but I would have taken this one anyway. Just shows so clearly the awesome power of Mother Nature.

Keep an eye out for these two in The Darwin Awards.... If they don't feature from this exploit then I'm sure they'll be cooking up something that qualifies them... :-)
