The roads looked pretty, but dangerous.

A view of Lake Panamoka. I wonder if the lighthouse actually works.

There are smaller lakes in the area, that are even prettier, because they are in the woods. This lake was just across the road from Lake Panamoka.

This lake is in the middle of the woods.

Its photos like these that really make that "positive film" effect on my camera really amazing.

Snow covered trails were much easier to walk on than the roads.

I get cold just looking at this photo. All photos were taken with the Canon Powershot A610. I'm amazed at the performance of the camera in cold weather. My older camera, the A75, always operated slow in cold weather and sometimes mis-focused. Battery life is just awesome on the 610. Managed to get 300 shots yesterday with charge left over on my NiMH batteries, despite the temps in the teens.

Hi Pineywoodsman (did I get the name right?), I like the pictures, the first two in particular. Nice colors and compositions. Having an A610 myself, I know exactly what you are talking about with regards to battery consumption. I loaded my A610 with 4 rechargeable POWEREX 2500 when I first got it a week before Thanksgiving. Since then I've taken almost 1000 pictures - many with flash, I've played with the menus and settings, I leave the LCD on and it's showing no signs of discharging. It's amazing!!!
