Here's one of the Birmingham Botanical Garden images in NIR and high contrast blue duotone. As you look at this, remember is was about 90 degrees F when the picture was taken!

Wow - a winter wonderland!
![]() What sort of exposure time and f-stop did you need to use to get this result? |

This one was 1 sec. at f8 (I'm in an f8 rut, no reason for it, it just has worked out that way). Exposure was metered by the camera. THAT I'll never get used to. I can't see anything through the finder, but the IR gets through to the light meter and the meter seems to do a pretty good job at "guessing" the proper exposure. It should be noted, however, you really should bracket your exposures because the whites get blown out so easily.

Ok, so that exposure was determined using the 87 filter. I'm guessing that the RM72 filter I just ordered, at the same f-stop, is going to only require about a 1/4 second given the same conditions. Still not fast enough for handheld, but I can open the aperture more than you have on this shot.
I think I'm going to have an advantage in that my camera has an EVF, so hopefully I will be able to view the IR-filtered image being composed... |

alady - you can photograph snow :-) Just get yourself an IR filter and take pictures as Delos has done! (my filter is on its way to me as I rave and rant).
(Hey - I thought there were lots of snowcapped mtns in Australia?) |

It makes our winters down south (Aus) look very mild. A great effect.
