Honey Run Covered Bridge

This bridge gained some small fame when it appeared briefly in a scene from the movie "Friendly Persuasion" staring Gary Cooper in 1956. I didn't live hear then but, I have driven over it when it was still open. It's protected from traffic now and a little the worse for wear but still has proud profile so I wanted to share a few pictures of a vanishing breed.

The interior structure.

This shot is looking upstream from the covered bridge. Some lucky sourdough prospector found a 1 pound gold nugget up there somewhere in the late 1800's. The nearby foothill town of Paradise celebrates the find with Gold Nugget Days. Complete with parade and mule races. Weehaw!

You certainly do live near paradise! Nice how the light flows through the boards on the interior shot.

Great shots. To me, the interior looks like it's got a little bit of a blue cast in the highlights. Also, from my perspective, it is quite sharp (too sharp? I don't know) I wonder, too, how it would look in B&W. If you use photoshop there's a photoshop action called "duotone dreams" at atncentral.com (http://www.atncentral.com/download.htm) that creates a really great, dreamy look that you can either apply a duotone color to or leave B&W. I think it would work really well for the bridge.
