The village picture is great. Just a slight haze in the distance but that is fairly normal.
The flower pic suffers from lack of focus point. That is to say something that catches the eye. It's a nice picture of the flowers but isn't a great picture because it doesn't say something to the viewer. You can sometimes solve that with judicious cropping or blurring the background behind one or more of the most prominent flower(s), remember not too many should be left visible. Generally shots of lots of flowers don't have eye appeal unless they grab you with lots of color or something similar. |

You're right about the focus point. I was just impressed by the colors and detail...this was my first Macro shot with a new camera

Getting the other flowers out of focus (short Depth Of Field) isn't a bad idea, but I wanted to warn you that it isn't easy to do. That would be a very shallow depth of field. So if you try it, don't feel bad if you don't get it right off.
Of course, you could always try to get the same effect in photoshop.... It should be easier, but since I am bad with photoshop, I'm not sure how much easier. ![]() Eric |

Hello Welshman
![]() Friend of Mr. Caine's, perhaps? Both your photos tell a nice lil story... I love the hilltop view of town....you went from long view to short view and "connected" both photos. Kudos ![]() If you crop your flowers, you could make some slam dunk cards for your friends! Thanks for sharing ![]() |

![]() ![]() As my C-350Z is basically a "point-n-shoot" with perks, I'll have to add DOF on the PC. I've got PSP 6 and will post the results when I get off my lazy duff and finally do it  I'll be away for the next two weeks...heading for Munich & Bavaria. I'm taking the digi with, naturally, and hope to get some good landscapes. Cheers! P.S. Quote:
