cant seem to get my night cityscape shots PERFECTLY in focus.. is this because ive got a 'crappy' kit lens on my Rebel... or is it becuase I am a foolish novice?

wow! that's some wicked barrel distortion in the second one!
hmm..., tripod (check), exposure (check), focus..wat did you focus on? infinity should work...or...on a foreground element if you have it... should be much differen't than the day... run the self timer if you aren't already.. i wouldn't think the lens would hurt it that much.. Vito |

here's the raw file.. the distortion might have been from when i was playing around with the settings photoshop gives you when you open a RAW image

the distortion is almost positively from the lens...but probably wouldn't be noticeable if the reflecting lights didn't reflection diagonally
lol oh yeah...to attach it here, it has to be under 250k, and has to be a jpeg, gif, png, txt, or zip file ![]() Vito |
