The Last Bit of Sun

The sun is setting behind two islands perfectly lined up from where I stand. Santa Barbara Island and San Nicolas Island directly behind Santa Barbara Island. Santa Catalina is off to the left.

G'day Mike

Don't we live on a wonderful planet where we get views like this regularly

cc- if I may... as I play with the scroll bars I find 2 images in this one ~ I could halve the sky -or- halve the foreground and each looks beaut. Any thoughts??

Yes, we do Phil. I'm very grateful to experience moments like these. I'm also grateful to photograph them so I can remember them. I think halving the sky to put the tip of the island and the sun closer to the thirds would work well.
Thanks for your constructive criticism.

There's not too much going on here at Steve's any more. Too bad, it was a great place to share photo's, ideas, thoughts and learn. I wonder what happened?
On line forums are a good place to spend time now with the deadly threat amongst us. You can spread a lot of things through the internet but not a virus. The human type that is.

Just after the sun dipped behind the two islands one 40 miles and the other about 75 miles out at sea.

Yeah mate - I am also saddened by it also ... having been here / supported / enjoyed the discussions and shares for a decade or more
During the decade I have also been active on several other Aussie + international photo forums - and I note that some names from here are now turning up on the US 'photography talk' plus the UK 'photography forum' sites
