Mud Lake - one of my favorite locations to photograph in winter (near Dain City/Welland, Ontario).
Shot this early morning after a snowfall with no wind the night before, which coated everything with a powdery layer of fresh snow. Mud Lake is a local wildlife habitat and home to dozens of bird species. S.K. |

Hi SK! Very nice! I really like how you shot that first photo, the perspective is really cool, and the exposure rocks, I can't ever get snow to be white.

I agree with Bob. You've got the snow down pat. I think you have to boost the ev compensation for shooting snow Bob. Cameras alway want to meter it down and it comes out gray. At least that's what I've been told. Never snows here anyway. Just friggin' rain in winter.........thekman. |

Truth be told - a lot of my snow shots tend to turn out somewhat grey as well (or bluish). But I usually tweak them in pshop...increasing the contrast a little and adjusting the hues.
Shootin' snow is different all the time, depending on the light conditions of course. S.K. |
