Let me know what everyone thinks of this picture. It was 5 seperate pictures I combined using Canon Photostitch software. It was taken in downtown Kuwait City, standing on the steps of the Sharq Mall.

Not bad, Rob, especially for your first try at it.
Did you use the panorama mode of the Canon camera you own? The reason I ask is because there seems to be some exposure differences among the different frames that were stitched together. Hint: To check for visible artifacts in the transitions between different frames that were stitched together, I do the following... I look at the pano in a window that is much narrower than the pano and use the horizontal scroll bars to move the pano through the window left to right, right to left at a continuous clip and also jogging back and forth. For whatever reason, this makes more visible to my eyes (and brain?) where the frames have been stitched together, especially if there are exposure differences or artifacts as a result of bad stitching. |

I'm not familiar with the Kyocera camera - does it have a panorama mode available? If so, did you use it?

No it doesn't, it's just a 5MP point and shoot. |

Ok, thanks for the info, Rob. That being the case, you can eliminate exposure differences among the different frames of the panorama if you lock the exposure metered for the first picture, using the exposure settings for the first picture on all successive ones. Hopefully, your camera will allow exposure locking...

I have since upgraded my camera to a Canon Digital Rebel, but that was the camera I had when I was in that part of the world last year. |
