hey iacopo!

i think a bit of dodging (burning? whichever makes it lighter lol) on the rock would heighten the effect of the rays shining on the rock...

of course, this would putit waaaaaayy over the top...it's absolutely gorgeous as is!!

great light, awesome composition!

hi vito thank you for the precious comment! actually i worked a bit with dodging on the rock and on the water reflection, but probably as you said, the effect could be enhanced even more. This evening i will try it.

In the meantime if you are interested and if you have time feel free to work on it and post here your results !

I like dramatic lighting.... especially natural lighting.

Good shot and composition.

You did better with your cross than I did. (see My First Outting post)

I'm going back to my cross site with a tele lens...once I can afford one :-)

I agree with Vito.....as in Great shot! Those colors are beautiful and I love the contrast. I also agree that a little dodging of the rocks (not too much) would help. Don't want it to take center stage of the photo though. Great work!

I know this is terrible dramatic, but I really couldn't properly edit this file as it was too small .jpg. If I had the RAW file the process I used to only select rock is as follows:
  1. In Photoshop CS I used the magic wand tool to select the darkest part of the rock by pointing to it a clicking with magic wand tool. This causes the rest or the rock that has that same texture and color will be inclosed in a highlighted circle.[/*]
  2. then I select the exposures tool and move both the far left and center markers to the left to brighten selected area of photo. [/*]
  3. Because some of the water was also selected (same texture and color or rock reflection) it also got brighten with rock exposure setting. So I used the clone stamp tool to select water and replace over exposed areas.
[/*]
Also the walk way to the rock was selected with magic wand tool....

I still don't know how to use Dodge/Burn to do this can someone provid a sample?
