Please give opinions. It was taken at approximately 10:00pm by mostly moon light. The posted picture has some noise, so please forgive. Let me know what you think.

Hi
I think it's a nice picture, with an exciting light .... Where did you take it? Maybeitcould be more impressive with alittle white frame around. MP |

nice one. but for me you need to crope it because my eyes is fixing on many points : on the moon (it's really the moon ?) reflexion with boat and on the first plan just in front the jetee.

I also think cropping is in order, hard to tell because I need to scroll my screen to see the whole thing. I kind of like taking a bit off the top, then cropping just above the deck line except for the pilings and railing that would be left...perhaps just below the pier. Play with it and see what you like. Also, watch your horizons. Notice how the waterline isn't level (although the pier is which makes this difficult and perhaps cannot be avoided). That can be fixed in photoshop or whatever program you edit with, but it's something that you should be cognizant of when taking the picture (again, this can be a moot point if the pier is your reference point). Noise can also be removed with a number of plug in programs or by a few other methods post processing.

![]() Thanks for all the comments. Since I only have a 4MP camera, I try not to have to crop too much so I can still print large prints with good quality. Instead I take all cropping advice and turn it into composition advice and try to learn to compose my shots better next time. As for the questions; The shot was taken in St. Augustine, FL @ approximatley 10:00pm by FULL MOON light. I used a 12 or 16 second exposure to gather all the light I could. I like the shot cause it looks more like a shot taken in the morning or evening by sunlight. Anyway, I try to learn from every shot I take. Thanks for the help... ![]() Dave... |

Overall, Dave N, your photo is a stunner!
I just tweaked it a abit re crop to bring sun off center, enhance to color saturation and reduce the noise. Beauty is eye of beholder, however... ![]() |
