Really Cool Light Show over LA.

The younger folks I'm sure had no idea what they were seeing when the west skies lite up shortly after sundown Friday 12/22/17. Us older native Angelenos surely can remember the missiles that were shot up into the early morning or evening skies. During the 60s, 70s & early 80s it wasn't that unusual to see the con-trails spiraling in all directions during the missile testing.
Last evening I was just finishing up with some painting and when walking into my garage. I just caught a glimpse of a extremely bright clouds as I went through the door. As I continued to put things way I immediately knew what it was from remembering back when I was younger.
I must say though for a second I thought of North Korea. I then realized if I had time to think about it, it wasn't a bomb.
Taken from my backyard after a quick clean-up and gathering my camera, lens and tripod. I wish I could have noticed it about 5 minutes sooner. The trail lasted about another 5 minutes before it faded away.
It was a Falcon 9 rocket launched from Vandenbergh caring a satellite. SpaceX.
Quite a spectacle.

Nice. Read about this in the news. Cool that you were able to capture it.
