It doesn't look like a place with happy holiday memories to me, but "desolation" captures it very well. In fact I think this is a really excellent picture. It's good to see something different as well.

These kinds of pictures are tricky: no matter how well you capture them, they're not the sort of thing you're likely to hang on your wall!
