i was sorting through some of the photos from my trip this spring and came across this one taken the day i arrived at Bryce Canyon. it was mostly cloudy with a few sun breaks, and i got this shot of a rain squall moving in while the canyon itself was still in sunlight... fortunately, the squall bypassed me, so i didn't need to run for the car to keep the cameras dry! 40D with SP 17-35 @ 20mm, 1/640 @ f/11.

Spectular. You can close up on the photo and count the trees and the pointed protrusions one after another. The clouds came just in time to narrow down the contrast between the sky and the landscape below it. What a natural shot that rightly tells the vastness of this spectacular landscape. Peter
