The Greek Island of Nisyros lies south of Kos and west of mainland Turkey. The whole of the Island is a stratovolcano (Mount St Helens being more famously known as a stratovolcano). Stefanoscrater is one of five small explosion sinks along the south part of the depression known as Rammos and Lakki. Stefanos is about 1,000 feet in diameter (300 m) and 80 feet (25 m) deep.
