As the topic suggest, this is a picture of the sunset taken from a dock on the St. Clair River (specifically theCorunna, Ontario Canada/St. Clair, Michigan, USA area). I'm not a photo pro, but this shot, in my opinion, is fairly eye-appealing, so I figured I'd share.I've made no modifications in photoshop, but I would like to hear any suggestions photo-wise as to what I can do to make improvements (I'm a beginner). But regardless, enjoy the shot.

Here is the same picture in hi-res glory if you'd like as well:

Great shot XanderBoy . The xposure is spot on and the warm colours are really nice. I'd say the shot is perfect as it is, you may try to play with the color balance just for the sport.

THe shot is beautiful and the colors quite warm and inviting. It immediately seems to say sit back, relax, enjoy a glass of your favorite beverage an dlet it all hang out.

From a composition standpoint some might suggest moving the horizon to suit the rule of thirds. If you haven't heard of it befroe it's a general composition rule suggesting that the focal point of the shot should lie on a plane one-third from the borders. This enhances the impact of the photo. Personally in this case I think the horizon being almost in the middle works because the sun is near the thirds mark.

Cheers and good work...
