Well it's been another wet weekend, so it was very much a case of back to the river (actually several rivers) again.
This first one I'm hoping to capture again as the seasons change, at least the recent rain means there was actually some water in the river this time! |

And so onto river #2, this time the standard shot that all the tourists take: there is actually a better view of this scene to be had, but it means placing your tripod in the middle of a rather busy road

And futher down stream, the river starts flowing through a series of meadows, this is all about the water that isn't moving. Wish I could do something about that white sky showing through though...

And finally - if anyone is still reading down this far - this one is way upstream, almost on the open moorland. This time it really is a picture of rock and still water - it's a pity the trees were moving though - I'm not sure yet whether that matters to me or not.
Any opinions welcome as ever, Regards, John. |

Very nice John, unless you'd mentioned it I wouldn't have placed that river anywhere near a busy road. Flowing water is god for the soul

These are very nice John. I like #3 the best followed by the first. Calming scenes. I like the silky smooth water in the 3rd one. Definitely eye catching. Bang on exposure too.

Thanks very much for the comments guys.
Poddy: the road is actually only a single track lane, but it's the only way through to a number of villages, and there's a large army base just up the road as well. It's not so much the volume of traffic as the width of the road at that point. I have taken pictures from the bridge there before, but it's a tad too scary for my liking! Bob: I'm sure you'd like the scenery over here if you come to visit, sadly it doesn't all look like this  Thekman: glad you liked the smooth water, I'm trying to move away from waterfalls, towards completely smooth water - just pebbles, rocks and ripples - but I haven't managed to capture the mood I want yet. Just have to keep trying I guess :-) Regards, John. |

Exceedingly nice:!:
Are you stitching images together to get the panoramic look? Peter. |

Just when you think the running water thing had been done to death, John Maddock shows up and teaches us all a thing or two.
