Default Tree or no tree?

Nearly identical shots except for the tree on the left. I think the shot with no tree might be better, but not sure. Does the tree help balance out the mountain?

I vote for no tree and I would crop out the tree on the right.

After seeing the tree version the non-tree version looks empty.

So I vote for the tree.

If the tree had more color, I'd want the tree. Since its more a dark mass over there... I would lean towards without. But I'm not leaning far.

You might also want to play with increasing the contrast. It looks a little flat to me (in my pictures, that is usually a sign that plaing with contrast will bring out shadows and give it more depth and pop.)
