trees in B/W
1 Attachment(s)
There's a group of trees just south of Calgary that are very unique to this area as they were planted in an interesting circle around a natural pond. I went back there yesterday hoping to capture a different view so this time I walked around the circle of trees and captured these ones.

I'm posting the first one now and will post some others later as I work on them.

This row of trees not far from the first one posted above.

i really like the mood imparted in these shots, particularly in shot #2. the lone muddy track leading into the grove is nice.

the first one doesn't do much for me, but i really like the second. the tunnel effect of the trees, combined with the vignetting (i assume that was done in processing?) make for a very compelling composition that really pulls you in...

Thanks guys! The second one is my favourite as well.

The ring of trees.

i like these last 2 quite a bit. i like the soft foggy feel and the vanishing line of the fence and treeline in the 1st one here. and would probably be my pick of the last pair.

the 2nd one works quite well too with the fog just faintly allowing the trees to show. but its not quite as balanced of shot.

nice ones overall though, thanks for sharing and glad you got your 5d back in order!

Yes, it feels good to have the 5d back. Having to go back to the 20d while the repair was going on was a bit painful but it all worked in the end and I can stop hyper ventilating.
