The clouds and ocean that is.
Edited with new processor. The learning curve.

G'day Mike
That's a super-bright gold dot you have managed to squeeze into this pic - you have been luckier than me lately, coz I just get the clouds!

The beachfront looks like so many others at a) sunrise and b) in the off-season ... nice & quiet and clean & tidy

Full marks for getting up so early
Phil

Thanks Phil,
I'm going to guess you look out towards the east when you're at the beach.
I appreciate the full marks for getting up early (which I did this day but not for this photo), but I look west at the beach near my house. It is the off-season though. I.m always surprised at how many people gather at sunset even in the off-season to watch the sun disappear. I believe this photo was taken about 12 noon your time tomorrow (for us). We're a little behind you here in So Cal.

This photo was an experiment. The extreme range of shadows and bright light made it a good photo to experiment with, I just got a new iMac and switched to a different raw processor. Just trying to dial things in.

Another image from the same day.
I've applied some different processing techniques.

Got that beach almost all to yourself, Mike. Nice captures.
