Ok, taken with my little Canon a60. I took a few shots, one with normal settings another with the "action" settings to kinda freeze the water

Fine shot. But your shuttertime is too slow to freeze the waters fall! However I like this style with slow speed better - it makes the water look like cotton I think.

Like Klaus I like the result with the lower shutter speed. You've ended up with water that has the same texture appearance as a genuine frozen waterfall - what I'd describe as trickle and freeze.

Yes, all the better for the slow shutter speed, 1/4 sec I'd guess. I'd have set it even slower 1/2-1 sec.

Thanx
![]() I was looking at various pictures of waterfalls after I got home and noticed how most of them have the 'cotton' look to them or misty kinda look. Next time I'll slow it down and see how it turns out! Thanx for the info |

The color and the contrast are really good. Also, I think it's better to have a slow shutter speed like that for waterfall shots. A fast shutter speed makes the water look frozen!

Yep smashing photo. I had my first go at slow shutter speed at the weekend and was amazed at the result.
cheers Martin. |
