Winding Hills County Park in Early Fall

It's about a year since my wife and I got started in the hobby of photography -- actually we started October last year -- and so I just didn't want to miss out on the fall colors and capture as much as I can.

I went to Winding Hills County Park in Montgomery, where families go boating and fishing in the summer, to take these pictures. The pictures were taken about 5 minutes past sunset.

Thank you for looking. C&C welcome.

very nice.
#1 looks like I want to walk right into the picture and have a seat and I really like the compositions of #2 and #3 with the boat foregrounds, reflected foliage backgrounds.
I would have never guessed #2/3 were past sunset.

Thank you, csd, for your kind thoughts and comments. I was, as usual, late for the sunset :).

#4) This picture shows the subjects in both #2 and #3 together. While taking this picture I was aware of the big garbage can near center and considered recomposing. I knew I could not clone out an object of such mass later in Photoshop. But remembering my philosophy in life that garbage cans are our friends, I decided to shoot anyway.

#2 in the first series is my favorite. Nice composition of the upturned boats against the trees and nearly still lake.

Thanks, all, for the kind words.

Ned, there's actually a boat with people on it in #1. It appears as a blue-gray blur on the far right.

Subhs, I appreciate it that you find my shots good. There was a time they weren't. At the time I thought they were flawless and worth building a gallery around for but people here found all kinds of flaws. Still I persisted and now I enjoy taking pictures a whole lot more.

Daniel, it was fast getting dark so I managed to take only a few shots. I wanted to take pictures of the path that leads to the lake. The lake actually makes a dramatic appearance when you come out of the tunnel-like winding path darkened by a dense canopy of trees. All of a sudden you see light at the end of the tunnel and right before you is the lake.

jelpee, there's another boat to the right of #2 with people on it. I tried not to aim my camera at them (to give them privacy) but the boat in #1 paddled into my frame. Maybe they wanted me to take a picture of them :).

Sounds cool! Hope you get another shot at it some other time.
