QDM, that's the coolest cloud I've ever seen. It would be pretty cool on it's own, but hovering over that mountain like that makes it pretty spectacular. I think it's really a UFO pretending to be a cloud. Better watch out for those things, they'll get you.

Melanie, Your lightning shot is awesome and your sunset is as beautiful as any I've ever seen. Great work!

Urbanphotos, that scene is just wonderful! thats one that needs to be very large and hanging some where.
What a neat thread and an amazing assortment of photos. This is a grand hobby that we have and cudos to Steve for giving us a place to share. We are a blessed group. |

Tom, your favorite happens to be one of my own favorites of other people's photos. I remember when you first posted it and someone was sure you'd pasted those geese in after the fact!

Barbara, yep that was last nov, I think what makes the photo look funny is that it is iso 800 and is very noisey. The other thing that people mention is that the geese are centered but when shooting AI servo I select the center focus point so I'm stuck with it. If Ihad used the right side point the geese would no doubt take off the other direction and really screw up the works. I could crop it but I've come to like it as it is.

Centering the subject isn't against the law. It worked in this photo...and who's this great maker of photo laws anyway? Probably something that squats beneath a bridge and has a mean chuckle.

Melanie... Great lightning photo. I am a weather "NUT" and I would love to get a lightning photo. I have the same problem as photosbyvito, I move and then comes the strike.
