Thanks guys!* I'd like to get out at that point for sunset too but it's pretty far from the park entrance and on a very bad road ....* *maybe next trip.

Hi Drewaz,

Nice pics. I went to the Valley of the Monuments back in May and tried to get to take some sunrise and sunset photos. However, the operators told me I would have to hire a guide to be there for sun rise and sun set even though they should have been after the park opened. I told them to have a nice day and drove on to a more reputable place.

I do believe that the Navajo people have been given a raw deal. But, I am not open to them giving it back to me if I only want to shoot when their signs say they are open. They said they would not open in accordance with the posted signs and borchures and I would need a private tour. This at a substantial rate with a private tour guide. It sickened me. I drove on.
