Almost looks computer generated, and I mean that as a compliment.

Superb. Worth all your efforts, and a treat to view.

Wow  Thanks guys!! Sorry for the delay in my reply. You never know, sometimes you think you good shot, but nobody else likes it. It seems a lot of the peoples opinions on this board i respect have weighed in on the plus side.:-D It was an amazing sight, I only took a couple pictures and then got my eye out of the viewfinder. Sometimes I think I can get a little too crazy taking pics just because they are "free" and don't really enjoy the moment. It turns out I didn't win the new camera:-?, I didn't expect to get a potd so it was still a plus, although a camera with a real shutter noise would have been nice. Hope you all enjoyed it.
To answer a couple of ?? the camera I have is a Fuji S7000. And I have no idea why it was that bright of an orange, just normal clouds and there are no cities around there to cause light pollution. I have seen this happen before, usually in the fall called a harvest moon. I think it is just the way the sun is reflecting on the moon, but I would welcome anyone more knowing than I about astrology to explain it.
Thanks again everyone, I appreciate your taking the time to comment.
Here are the October winners.

And this is for John who was a little spooked by the shot...

that is a truly amazing photo! i love the color, and the way the moon seems to be almost sitting on a pedestal of clouds... if that one isn't framed on your wall, it should be!

Thanks Squirl I haven't printed it yet, my home printer isn't really worth the paper I put through it. I send all mine out. Anyone have any ideas on how to mat a picture with these colors? That's an area I have no idea about. Feel free to post an example.

Thought you'd like that John, that's ok about the new cam, wasn't expecting to get potd, but once you do, you do get a little hopeful.
Thanks again all.
