After a beautiful period of crystal clear blue skies, it looks like the change is finally on the way.

These were taken tonight: I was expecting more clear skies and another "golden glow" over the landscape, but instead it was dark and brooding, with a lot of the high ground under the cloud. Still if the weather does turn, at least I have another batch of 200 images to sort through (haven't got through the last lot yet!), at this rate I'll still be sorting these images out next year!

Here's the first one:

When the sun got a little lower it poked out from behind the cloud:

This is the last one I took, after this the sun disappeared behind the cloud and haze.

For a short while though the colours went a crazy shade of almost-purple.

Regards, John.

These are beautiful John! I know that color you are describing, it is really cool catching a sequence like this!

Beautiful colours! Very nice sense of height, too. Besides, the silhouette foreground of rocks contributes much indeed..
Exploit that obscure setting of Shakespeare's witches, dear mate

Thanks Bahadir and Bob!

Cute dog, BTW Bob :-)

Bob: I don't think there's been a digital sensor made yet that can capture that strange purple colour, I thought my eyes were going strange for a minute :?

John.

Just amazing, and so fantastic that you've captured that color to remember always. It is never quite the same - to me that's the most alluring thing about nature. It's constant in it's never-ending variety.

THanks for sharing.
