Hi Bahadir

In the short time I have been member of this forum I have had opportunity to com eto respect your pictures, your comments and your spirit.

The work by the monks ...

These pictures moved me .. the 'work' resonsated with me .. I was on the Island of Patmos some years ago an went to the cave where St John was reputed to have worn a ledge in the rock where he used to grip it to kneel doen to pray.

I saw your landscape. And then the black and white. I had some thoughts about unities of tonality and rather than fail to put them into words,I took the liberty of putting your colour one into photoshop and doing a rough pp sketch

Since you do not know me, then I'll be explicit that this is a nervous contribution by a newcomer ... a tentative expression concerning a work which I already admire.

Best wishes

Glyn

Hi, Glyn!Glad to see around akindred spiritwho sense the things beyondwhat is visible to weak human eyes! In fact I'dprefersolitude for shooting in such places for more inspiration, which I have never achieved Anyway,I am humbled by your kind words and heartily welcome your edit. Still,I should mention that the blown areas of high contrast steal from itBtw, I hope you're planning to pay a visit to the Seven Churches of Revelation in Anatolia with your R1, which will payoff generously both in photographic and spiritual ways

That is really a beautiful picture. You have a great eye and I have noticed your pictures carry an emotion with them. BTW that first pic is with a wide angle and I don't see any distortion, I think that is what you call it anyhow. Did you correct this some how? The reason I ask is I have this problem and would love to be able to solve it.

torresmd, thanks for your kind words which would help me greatly in my uninspired, dull times Ah, there's no distortion correction in these shots. My good old S70 has a moderate wide angle lens(28mm) whichcauses no adversary effect on landscape shots. Butin interior shots, especially the nearby objects tend to lean dangerously:Gas you can see in my 'Ottoman Palace of Dolmabahçe' post in Architectural Photos section.Fortunately people considerthis imperfectiongiven, except some eagle-eyed ones* :-)
