Here is a soft-light shot of the sunrise highlighting the tips of the mountains overlooking Spray Lakes, Alberta. Comments and suggestions are welcome on this one, as I try a new type of photography. Thanks. More of my pictures can be seen at http://www.jeanroy-photo.com

The light on the mountain tops is beautiful indeed!

For me though the dark area at the bottom is a little too overwelming?

John.

Here is the original, John. I was experimenting with Photoshop CS2.

I like the original. I would adjust levels to match the colors that you had in the first posting and then crop it so that the water is about 1/3, the mountain about 1/3 and the sky about 1/3.

I think the water and shadowy trees add a good bit to the composition.

Nice shot.

I have one other observation. The first shot makes me think of mountain climbers looking at their challenge. The second makes me think of sitting on the front porch of my cabin and having coffee watching the sun kiss the earth. Two completely different emotional responses or perceptions from the same picture just cropped and color adjusted differently. And thus is the power of artistic photography!!!

Very cool.
