Thx! The photo was taken at 33mm on a crop camera, so the focal length was 52.8mm! That's how huge and wide that canyon is. If I had gone any wider, it would have ruined the little details like the raised flat table on the left side of the picture and some of the tree/slop detail. That raised table is GIANT on it's own, like you say. It's just that the canyon dwarfs it.

I think 17-50 is an excellent landscape range on a 1.6x camera for outdoor work in the west. Anything wider and IMHO you don't get a real feel for what it's like to be there (which is my main goal).

Thank you for the info. We were already planning at least one day at Grand Teton. Now it looks like we have a couple of other places to try and make time for

On screen it looks like view camera work--excellent.
