#1 is impressive, but the cloud formations and the sense of depth afforded by the apparent closeness of the rock formations in the foreground make me choose #2.

Both are exceptional but if forced to choose I'd go with #2 in part because the sky seems to play a bigger role in the shot and I find the colours a bit more vivid.
