The thistles were all facing the sun. I didn't know they did that much as sunflowers. Not a wonderful shot but I liked the various textures and planes of interest in the field. Your thoughts?

Ialways find thethistles to add a deserted and somewhat a romanticfeel to the place they grow...and their colour of magical purpleis another story! Here in this pic. the inclination adds a movement and the thistles follow the inclination almost occupying nearer half of the image diagonally which is well balanced by the wood piles on the further half..

Well done

JDar

It is a most unusual and fascinating picture . It follows the compositional rules in a extra-ordinary way.

You managed to make the purple thistles pop-op-op-op-op and the dark amber of the logs "lay out" against the green. Great

JDar, I believe it is a wonderful shot because of your composition... looking at the thistles, I'm waiting for the wind to gust and set them in motion.

As for the logs, well, I find their pale cut ends rather mimic the flowers in shape, and purple, green and amber (as Torgny calls it) work together harmoniously.

those logs stacked against the trees reminded me of fungi you often get at the base of trees in a damp locations

Thank you all for seeing some positive aspects and commenting. It really helps me and probably others to get a little braver posting things.
