Walked along the beach last night as the sun was setting behind the Huntington Beach pier. Some like those moments to reflect on the day, their life, or...?

Not so this fellow. He won't give up on catching that last wave 'til its too dark to see it.

Walter, number 1 really stands out. A beautiful combination of elements that come together to make an eye pleasing photo. And bonus points for including the single, solitary figure in the composition. The importance of its presence in this scene cannot be overstated. In other words, I like it! Well done. Dan

I agree with fishguy, the first one is a framer.

Hi Walter,

I like both photos, great captures.

Love the colours in number 1 including the wispy clouds! A small improvement I could suggest is if you had framed a little more to the left, mainly because the pier pillar and lamp on the left had a bit more "space" rather than being almost at the extreme left edge of the photo. That would have also brought the sun and the man on the pier slight more to the right of the photo, which I think would also enhance the balance.

Thanks for sharing!

Paul

ah, the methaphorical title ' catching the last wave' alone is worthy of praise, IMO: )

Well, joke aside,as it has been repeatedly mentioned above,#1 has quite an artistic look, actually
