I shuddered a little and braved the cold wind down at the river tonight but I haven't had a chance to try out my new lens... It's been cold and snowing and/or raining here all week. The weather finally broke tonight so I headed out. I brought some shots home like this. I am still waiting for a fairly sunny day to see how sharp my lens is... Maybe tomorrow?

Hello joeybob! Nice shot! Congrats on the new lense, hopefully it will warm up and we can see more of what this lens can do. I have had my D-50 for almost two years, thousands of pics later it is still going strong. I hope you don't mind but I noticed a bit of lean in the smoke stack and used it to get some practice with the perspective tool in Corel to try and fix it a bit.

Bob

You've captured some really nice reflections of the plant under a sky with clouds of cottoncandy, joeybob!

...And very decent edit, Bob!

Thanks Bob - I like the edit in regard to the straightening of the stack but prefer the original as it's a little more dramatic because it has more visible sky. I'll have to play around with this one and see if I can find a compromise. Thanks bahadir - I never considered cotton candy !

Nice shot, like all the colors in the water and the mood you set in the picture. Notice the lean too, looks better straiten up, as to which one has the best lighting. That depends on which monitor I viewing the picture on, the original looks best on the LCD monitor but the edited one looks best on the CRT monitorhere at work. Though I think that is my problem and not the pictures.
