the highway to Mt. Rainier's Paradise Lodge crosses Kautz Creek on the way up the mountain. i'd been here before, but never seen the water level so low, and never seen the rocks stained red from the ferrous oxide in the water... but i thought it made a neat photo! 40D, 17-35 @ 17mm, 1/160 @ f/10...

It makes such an unusual sight actually!! Though Iquite liked the sight of the imposing mountain at the backgroundin #1, my fave is #2 which I found most demonstrative
