Huang Long NatureReserve is in the northern part of Szechuan. It takes a 2-hr drive to get there from Huang LongAirport. To get to Huang Long Airport, you can take an inland flight from Chengdu Airport and the flight is about30 min.The reserve is noted for its karst formation, snow mountains, primitive forests, canyons, fallsand colorful lakes.

The shots below were taken in a recent trip there.

1 Snow mountains

Another nice series. You've done well with both dramatic shapes and subtle tones.

Agreed with Th!

The carst formation ponds reminded me the ones in Pamukkalehere over whichstands an ancient city by the name of Hieropolis, some pictures of which were posted in C&T photos by malinstreak:

I visited Pamukkale about 15 years ago, inspired bythe Kent's cigarette advertisement that was shot in Pamukkale. At that time, people were allowed to walk or sunbathe in the pond.I did sunbathe there.Great fun.The ones in Huang Long have been prohibited from being stepped onto for a long time to preventthe wearing off of the crystals formed on the pond surface. Both places are justbeautiful. Peter
