haven't shot many sunsets lately... most have been kinda boring. but this evening was quite spectacular... these were shot with my 5D and Tamron SP24-135 at various focal lengths and exposures... straight from the camera, except for resizing and a touch of sharpening to offset compression....

Hi Squirl033

Lovely set of photos, thanks for sharing your sunset, even when it was already probably not to farr off starting to get light here from the same sun here in Australia!

I particularly love the diagonal ridge of cloud in the first photo and the sweeping patterns and colours of the last photo.

So, you have a Canon 5D now. I guess your Tamron makes a good all-round lens for that full frame body.

Again, thanks for sending the photos.

Paul

thanks, Paul... yeah, i picked up a 5D shortly after the Mk II was announced. the new model has some nice features, but nothing compelling enough to justify the cost. i don't need 21Mp or HD video, i just wanted a good FF body, so i got a year-old, mint-condition 5D for $1300. then i won $750 in a photo contest, and sold my 30D for $500, so the net out of my pocket for the 5D was only 50 bucks.... now that's a price even I can afford!

That's been quite an eye pleasing seriesindeed. The mystic transition in the sky is so moving! I'm especially drawn in by#2 and #4...

The last shot is quite beautiful.I like the black horizon line and the water textures in the for-ground. Thanks for sharing.
