took a little trip out to the coast yesterday - well, 3-1/2 hours each way probably isn't a "little" trip, but i needed to get out of the house - and got some photos at Ruby Beach, which is about 35 miles south of the town of Forks, where the movie "Twilight" was set. 5D, 24-135 at 24mm, various exposures... the first two were tweeked in Photomatix to even out the exposure a bit...

Hi Squirl

Stunning area there... I remember you having taken some other photos there before, and have some classic shots from there.

From this series, I appreciate all of them, but I think my favourite is the 1st photo for interesting leading lines and feeling of depth to the photo. Is that a bright red star fish at the bottom right?

2nd photo has a very clean / neat feel to it, and the contrast of red / green on the island / rock is attractive.

The last photo has wonderful colours in the sky and the water is so smooth and serene.... but I do find the green noise very noticeable and distracting in all the darker areas of the photo. Maybe a result of some post processing?

Thanks for sharing.

Paul

thanks, Paul! yep, that's a starfish... they're pretty common there, along with purple ones which don't show up near as well in photos! now that you mention it, i do see some color noise in the shadows of the last one... probably comes of trying to bring out a bit more detail in PP... i'll have to go back and see if i can fix that...

Very refreshing series, oh, both good toobserveat the start of a promising day and at end ofa hardday's work! Ifind the second and third pictures spectacular, especially, the third one; technically and compositionally(despite the noise issue,I'm sure, you'll fix, and which lookedevenfine at the first look on the beach like some seaweed!)

Been there :|

Just to show all those who have not been there, a different perspective.

This is an early morning shot from up higher, over-looking the area squirrel shot.
