Both of these photos were taken this past Saturday. The snowy road was taken durning the snow early in the day and the second was taken on a walk in the late afternoon. As I was walking the sun kept peeking through breaks in the clouds making this really beautiful light. I had my little Canon 880 in my pocket and waited for the sun to pop out again and captured this red barn and snowy trees bathed in golden light. Shortly after it was back to cloudy and gloomy again.

Thanks for looking!
Bob

Good job with your little P&S, Bob. Both are keepers.

The composition in the first one somehow reminded me that of your'Locust Lane' picture, which was a winner! In the second one, the reddish barn surrounded by the white looks as striking as it were surrounded by the green. The trees with metalliclustretherelook dimensional to me as if sculptures!...anyspecial pp for this effect other than the touch of nature:-) All in all, very tasteful arrangement once again my friend

Thank you all! Bahadir, I did a bit of burning and dodging the shadows and highlights on the trees, the rest was mother nature and that great light!

Hi Bob

Another set of great photos from you! The exposure on both is fantastic.... and you've done very well with the dodge n burn technique in post processing. Congratulations!

The first photo draws one's eye in very well... and interesting to see the tread pattern of the tyre marks in the snow nearest you.

The second photos colours are soft yet superb... especially the deep dark red contrast with the pale blue of the sky.

The only thing I might say / suggest, is why leave some space to the left of the tree (on the left hand side of the photo) and yet cut off part of the tree on the right? Not a real criticism, I guess I'm just saying I wonder what it might look like more centred!

Thanks again for sharing your area with us.
