Default Burning Forest

Can anyone tell me if this is a nice shot/effect? Or is it crap. Thanks.

I used an infrared filter set to B+W with an 8 second shutter speed.
In Photoshop I duplicated the layer and set that to linear light blending mode at 27%. I then added a Curve adjustment layer and set the snap neutral to middle tones and chose an orange-yellow colour.

I think what you're looking at is excellent potentional. What would this photo look like if you converted it to LAB, then played with the Lightness channel until it mimicked an infrared photo, then converted it to grayscale? Maybe burn some of the edges to create a slight tunnel effect for the road. (Don't forget to rotate it to straighten out the horizon.) If it were my photo, I'd be playing like mad with it. :!:

Good effort. The trees looks like they're at fire, but the ground need to be edited somehow too...looks like snow or something and this kills the illusion...

Thanks. It was an infrared photo at first bcoultry. I'll try to straighten the horizon but I sort of like the crookedness. I didn't intend for it to look like it was burning. I'll post the original image and a newer edited one. As far as the ground - I have no idea how to make it look like it is burning. The ground looks like snow because there are leaves on the ground and it was an infrared shot.
